Depression
A pathological state characterized by emotional or mood disturbances. The person is sad, crying, lack of self confidence on oneself, low self-esteem, difficulty concentrating, making decisions, remembering, loss of interest in any activity, despair, sense of abandonment. In the most serious cases, Thoughts of death or suicide, Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, helplessness, persecution, poverty and bad health. Usually, this state is accompanied with somatic symptoms such as tiredness, anorexia or bulimia, insomnia, menstrual alterations, weight loss, loss of sexual appetite or impotence.
some specific diseases (multiple sclerosis, Cushing disease, lupus erythematosus, arthritis rheumatoid, Parkinson disease, brain tumors, vitamin B3 and B12 deficiency, etc.) or after consuming some specific drugs (contraconceptives, alcohol, sedatives, etc.)
For persons that are taking antidepressants, it is not recommended to suddenly stop the treatment, but to do it gradually and with the patient’s collaboration.
